Take a Breath ~ A Note from Katy
By Katy Agro Myers
Hey Peeps! It's been a hot minute since you've heard from me personally, but I'm alive! We've had a rough winter and last week's spring-like weather had me really getting over the slump. And yet the cold and rain is back. The damp, cloudy days. They've got me like:
There's been a lot of drama this week with my third graders (you know, just when I finally got the drama with my 7th grader under control). I'm pretty sure I cried all day on Thursday. Avery and Brennan aren't growing apart - but their interests are growing apart. They have new friends and sometimes it's causing some strife in our house. Feelings are getting hurt, attitudes are getting thrown around, and I'm not trying to be the counselor, referee, teacher, and coach. And yet still trying to do all of the regular mom-jobs and work-jobs I have to keep up with. I probably haven't done a good job at any of them.
I'm trying to remind myself that I should take a breath. Before I respond. Before I react. Before I get emotional. Take a breath. Again, I'm not always the best at it, but I just keep repeating myself and hoping that at some point I'll remember to always take a breath. So I hope this weekend - you can take a breath too!
