Rise Up ~ A Note From Katy

By Katy Agro Myers

Easter is upon us and last week I was teaching my Sunday School kids about the Bible story of Jesus rising from the dead. It got me thinking about all of the ways that Easter and Spring really do bring about new life. The symbols of a fresh start are all around us! The trees and plants are budding. The grass is starting to turn green. And how about that gorgeous 78-degree day we had yesterday? Lucas and some of the neighborhood kids quickly pulled out our slip-n-slide to enjoy it.

If you've been following along for a bit - you know that the end of last year and the beginning of this year have been a struggle for my family. So I'm taking this reminder from the world outside that we can begin again! I'm hoping Spring Break will be a reset for all of us. A chance to connect. A chance to enjoy. A chance to break free of the routine and just be together. I'm hoping it's filled with laughter. I'm hoping it's filled with fun. I'm hoping it's filled with relaxation - because we've been on the go non-stop lately!

I'm working overtime this week and feel the strain of laundry, packing, and Easter gift assembly that needs to be done. Somehow, I'll get it all done (I hope). Knowing that I will be able to take a break and enjoy my family. It'll be worth it!

So here's to you. Here's to getting it all done. Here's to taking a break. Here's to finding some relaxation. Finding connection. Filling your cup.

Now I'm off to scramble and do alllll the things. And then sneak off to a friend's house for a couple of hours to enjoy brunch with my mom-friends. Lots of laughter will ensue - despite this gloomy rainy day. And I will take it as a chance to renew my energy and have a fresh start for the weekend.

xoxo, Katy
