Note from Nicole ~ Everyone Wants to be Wanted

I love having friends and family to our home - whether for dinner, a movie night, a couple of drinks around the fire, or a simple game of Scrabble or Catan. What's more, though... I also really love when someone else invites us to something.

There. I said it.

A backyard barbeque, an event in town, an overnight, a date night - whatever it is, it feels good to be asked and know there are people in our lives who care enough to put in the work to make the plans. With everyone's calendars the way they are, it's not always easy to coordinate. But doesn't it feel so good when someone you enjoy wants to spend time with you and initiates making that happen?

I've been thinking a lot about this lately. I have really had some amazing friends and family step up to the plate in this regard, at a time that I've really needed it, and it feels great to be surrounded by their love.

We have no plans this weekend, or for awhile, but I'm hoping it won't be long before we are back to hosting friends. I'll be looking forward to seeing my yard full of kids, my kitchen piled with potluck dishes, and relaxed friends sitting on the deck.

I'm also looking forward to my next invitation from someone else, and the content happy feeling of being wanted. Maybe it's a "love language" thing, but I know I'm not the only one. Try it out!
