Note from Nicole ~ Discovering Yourself

This might seem like a really obvious thing to say, but I think it's so cool that - no matter how old we are - we can still discover new things about ourselves. For example, I am 36 years old (there, I said it) and I only recently discovered that I like biking, that it's OK to say no, and that I love to cook. There are probably a dozen other things I've rediscovered this year, too. Like red wine. I tried it 100 times in my 20's and didn't like it... until I gave it another try earlier this year and (spoiler alert) I liked it. I guess our tastes and preferences change with time.

That idea makes me so happy to think about. I'd love to think that someday I might be a white-haired old lady, with hobbies and interests I couldn't even dream of now. Maybe I'll go on those senior citizen bus tours and see new cities, or learn a new language at the community center, or be a wrinkly old power-lifter. And that's the point, I suppose. We're constantly inventing ourselves, and what could be more creative than that?

Keep trying new things and opening yourself up to new possibilities! You never know what you'll fall in love with, and what you'll learn about yourself along the way.

xoxo,

Nicole
