Winter Family Hikes in Annapolis

Getting outside has never been so important than it is now in Anne Arundel County.


Some of our favorite walking trails are located right in our state's capital. When we're looking for an easy-peasy way to get our kids out of the house and exhaust them, heading out to one of these trails is the sure-fire way to make that happen!

 

101 College Parkway, Arnold

"The trails at the community college are open to the public and are connected through a series of grass and dirt trails. While much of the trail is flat and the surface is even, there are some areas with steep inclines and exposed roots."

440-470 Shore Acres Rd, Arnold

"The trail is good for all skill levels and primarily used for hiking and walking."


Jonas Green Park, Annapolis

"The scenic, paved, 13-mile community trail is brimming with history lessons and boasts a solar system of information."


101-175 Harry S. Truman Pkwy, Annapolis

"Features a great forest setting and is rated as moderate."


College Parkway and Green Holly Drive, Annapolis

"The Broadneck Trail is located across from Broadneck Park. It starts at Green Holly Drive and continues along College Parkway and ends at College Parkway East."

"The trail is over 7 miles long, meanders through woods and along a creek and is maintained through funds raised by the Annapolis Striders."

"Five miles of paved trails weave throughout woods and along the water’s edge."

"Features beautiful wildflowers and is good for all skill levels."

"The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, and road biking and is accessible year-round."

"Visitors can enjoy trails winding through forests and past grassy fields, children’s playground, or picnic among 340 acres of beautiful parkland."


Access points can be found at Annapolis Plaza and AAMC.

"South Shore Trail is from Annapolis Plaza to Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis."


Park at City Dock and walk over.

"The run through the yard can be designed to be flat, taking a runner alongside the Chesapeake Bay and the Severn River or a little more challenging by adding Hospital Hill to the course."
