Independence Day (or the Fourth of July) commemorates the Declaration of Independence of the United States, which was ratified by the Second Continental Congress on July 4, 1776. The Second Continental Congress declared that the thirteen American colonies were no longer subject (and subordinate) to the monarch of Britain, King George III, and were now united, free, and independent states.

July 4th, 2023 4:00 p.m. -10pm The Baltimore Office of Promotion & The Arts (BOPA), Baltimore Symphony Orchestra (BSO) and Waterfront Partnership of Baltimore (WPB) are excited to announce that 4th of July festivities are returning to the Harbor!

Starting at 3:00 p.m. there will be food & drink trucks, selfie stations and more at West Shore Park. At 4:00 p.m. listen to the traditional performance by the Navy Band Commodores at the Inner Harbor Amphitheater. After the concert, there will be street performers and activities along the promenade. BSO Artistic Partner and Baltimorean Wordsmith will deliver a spoken word performance of Frederick Douglass’ “What to the Slave Is the Fourth of July?” at 7:30 p.m. Then at 8:00 p.m., the BSO will host a Star-Spangled Celebration concert under the baton of Assistant Conductor Jonathan Rush. The full orchestra performance will culminate around 9:30 p.m. with a dazzling 13-minute fireworks display.

Laurel 4th of July Parade The Laurel Fourth of July Committee invites you to the 43rd Annual Independence Day Parade. The Parade will begin promptly at 11am on July 1, 2023.


Catonsville 4th of July Parade Tuesday, July 4th, 2023 3pm Get out your chair and watch the grand parade featuring 12 marching bands. Parade will be held rain or shine. Starts at Frederick Road and Montrose Avenue, proceeds east on Frederick Road to Bloomsbury Avenue, south on Bloomsbury Avenue to the Community Center. Get out your chair and watch the grand parade featuring marching bands including the Ravens Marching Band. Parade will be held rain or shine.

Catonsville Fireworks Family Fun Fest Tuesday, July 4th, 2023 6:30 pm Catonsville High School Athletic Fields (Valley Rd. and South Rolling Road)

Bring your blanket and stake out a spot early! Music will be provided by Mallow Hill which is a local band and all members are from CATONSVILLE. Our title sponsors, State Fare, The Beaumont and El Guapo have sponsored Maryland Native and now Nashville Country Singer Jimmy Charles who will be preforming his new hit “It’s a Maryland Thing.” Rumor is this song is becoming the “Maryland Anthem.” We will have Food Trucks at Valley Road parking lot as well as at various locations along Hilltop and on Bloomsbury.
